Artist's Comments

We had to draw a picture of a clothespeg in art classes – the rest was left open. i wanted to do something surreal and something with an obvious height-contrast.
I nearly despaired at the beginning, our school's really not well equipped talking of colors and brushes. the original format is 88 x 62 cm, DIN A1 or A2? i've never worked onto such a " bigsized" canvas before. the bigger the better, i know.
I've never seriously painted before and i came to enjoy it. painting this was fun me thinks :)

I added the "windows" of the vitrine in Photoshop; has someone of you an idea how to realize that in reality? I thought of fine colored dust, but i've no clue if that will work.

Hope you enjoy it, the colors are somewhat off and some parts are sloppy, i know :)

I think that white crayon should help. You know, I don't know the english name.. Pastel crayon?

I love the perspective/hight of it..your shadows are awsome!!!
Coloring is not as sloppy as you think :) it still gives a good effect! this painting makes me want to re-create a similar scene in 3D...maybe with your permission of course :)
